Ingredients:
100%: tallow, goat milk sodium hydroxide [additives as listed below by specific bar if any]
30%: tallow, goat milk, canola oil, coconut oil, olive oil, sodium hydroxide, shea butter [additives as listed per bar if any]
Some of our tallow is from Cora's family's beef herd. Some of the beef tallow we use is from a small farm in a neighboring state.
In 2024 we started receiving requests for tallow products. Next came a custom wedding order for tallow bars. In 2025 we added Whipped Tallow lotion and a limited number of 100% and 30% tallow bars at the Hollidaysburg Farmers Market.
Why Tallow?
~The fatty acid profile of tallow is similar to our own which makes it easily absorbed (applies more in leave on products like lotion).
~Tallow is rich in vitamins A,D,E,K, and B12.
~Is a mild cleanser (less stripping of natural oils) .
~Creates a dense creamy lather.
We offer:
100% tallow bars. Only tallow, goat milk, and sodium hydroxide unless color and fragrance are included.
30% tallow bars. Goat milk with approximately 1/3 of the fats (oils and butters) is tallow with the other 2/3 a combination of four additional oils and butters.
For sensitive or overly dry skin try the unscented options.
100% tallow:
Unscented - white/natural color
Pink Pomelo with pink clay and pink Himalayan salt - pink color with fragrance
Vanilla Sugar - brown color with honey and fragrance
Summer Daisy - frosted white color with fragrance
30% tallow:
Unscented - white/natural color
Coffee with grounds- brown with fragrance
Coffee without grounds- brown with fragrance
Vanilla Apricot- dark brown color with fragrance
Birch & Juniper- black and white with charcoal and fragrance
Care & Instructions
All handmade soaps last longer when kept out of water and allowed to dry between uses. Try our soap saver bags to store your soap by hanging to dry. Our wooden soap dishes keep the soap raised for airflow.
Deep Well Farm products do not contain preservatives. Glycerin in soap draws moisture to it. In humid conditions (shower/bathroom), moisture may condense on soap. Some soaps contain more glycerin than others. Each bar is unique in design. Bars may contain air bubbles or pockets.
Shipping Information
Shipping is USPS flat rate or local pick-up rate. Pick-up is subject to Deep Well Farm scheduling. The customer is responsible to pick-up at the Deep Well Farm designated location.
